In January 2025, Jones stated she would not run again, choosing to finish her current term and focus on new opportunities. Her decision came following years of representing Labrador in the House of Commons since 2013, where she served with distinction as a Parliamentary Secretary and advocate for northern affairs.

Cancer Survivor and Community Leader

Her announcement also reflected her ongoing journey as a breast cancer survivor. Jones shared that she was cancer-free, healthy, and looking forward to future endeavors outside of Parliament.
